At
TRA-Mage, our snow brackets are engineered from the fail point
of the roof system. Through proper testing and research, we
have developed unique engineered charts. These charts calculate
the number of snow brackets required and their correct distribution
as provided in a roofing square layout based on the roof surface
type, sheathing type and thickness, snow load, and roof slope.
Snow
Bracket L Technical Guide
Tile
Roof Accessories (TRA-Mage) Snow Bracket L has been engineered
for use with all standing seam, metal panel and asphalt shingle
roof systems.
For optimum assurance that snow and ice will not slide, always
use the snow load / slope chart to determine number of snow brackets
per square of roofing. Snow loads vary. Check with the local building
department to verify the snow load for your area.
INSTALLATION
For Metal Panel roofs:
Place the L Bracket with the 3" raise of the bracket on the
up slope of roof. Drill 3 holes through existing holes in bracket
and down through the roofing product and the sheathing. Hole size
should be smaller than screw threads to prevent the screw from
pulling out when stressed. Remove the snow bracket. Install caulking
in holes and on base of the roofing product. Place snow bracket
on roofing, aligning holes and screw through holes.
For Standing Seam Metal Roofs:
Install as for the metal roof but drill holes in metal panel only
slightly larger than screws to prevent oil canning and slotting
concerns. Install the L Bracket on full run of panel from eave
to ridge and do not exceed spacing 3 feet apart.
